"Riverdance" makes its way into town for eight performances

It will feel like St. Patrick's Day in Atlanta this week.

The Fox Theatre will host the wildly popular "Riverdance" for eight performances. "Riverdance" is a celebration of Irish music and dance and illustrates the influences the music has had on other cultures. There are currently two productions of "Riverdance" touring the world and this is one of them. "Riverdance" won a Grammy Award in 1997 for "Best Musical Show Album" and has also found popularity as both a television special and a video. While some may think the entire show is made up entirely of dance, there are also original songs that will enchant the audience and stir their spirits.

"Riverdance" will run through Oct. 5 with performances at 8 p.m. through Saturday, matinee performances on Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m. and a special Sunday evening performance at 7:30 p.m. Ticket prices range from $15-$61.50.
