Classical pianist to perform at Heritage of Peachtree Hugh Waddy will perform a classical piano concert Sunday, Oct. 5, at Heritage of Peachtree Retirement and Assisted Living Community. The concert is the second in their "Sunday Afternoon with the Arts" series. Waddy, a Jonesboro native, received a Bachelor of Music degree from Baylor University and a Master of Sacred Music degree from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary School of Church Music in Louisville, Ky. He has also studied at Julliard School of Music and played at 86 concerts throughout the United States. Waddy has accompanied numerous singers on the stages of the Metropolitan Opera House, Avery Fisher Hall, new York State Theatre and Carnegie Hall, where he also played solo performances. In addition, Waddy has accompanied the Korean Milal Missionary Choir and toured with it to Los Angeles, Tokyo, Bangkok, Pusan and Seoul, South Korea, the Phillipines and the Dominican Republic. The concert at Heritage of Peachtree is free and open to the public. The concert will begin at 1:30 p.m. and will continue until 3 p.m. with a short intermission mid-way.
