Good showings at Patriot Invitational Local schools were well-represented at the Patriot Invitational cross-country meet last weekend in Rockdale County, with one school from Fayette coming away with a team victory. Starrs Mill won the boys title in the large schools division with 73 points, well ahead of second-place McEachern (98), with Milton (147) and Lakeside-DeKalb (149) coming in third and fourth. McIntosh finished with 313 points in 11th place. The Panthers amassed their winning team score by having six runners in the top 23. Bradley Morris (17:14) came in 10th overall, with Craig Hyatt (17:25), Daniel Shankle (17:35), Austin Enriquez (17:39), David Woods (17:46) and Sankar Sridaran (17:47) close behind. In girls competition, McIntosh finished ninth with 302 points and Starrs Mill came in 12th with 382. The top local runner, however, was Claire Burgstrom of Fayette County High, who finished eighth with a time of 20:47. Emily Borsare of McIntosh was 10th at 21:05, while Kristin Horton of Starrs Mill finished 36th at 22:21. Our Lady of Mercy (108 points) and Landmark Christian (142) finished 2-3 in the small schools division, behind Franklin Road of Tennessee, who won the meet with 99 points. For Landmark, Will Bonn (18:05) and Robert Jones (18:13) came in eighth and ninth, and OLMs Zach Lethbridge finished 12th at 18:28. Also in the top 22 were Pat Super of OLM (18:48), Matt Fraas of OLM (18:51) and Brett Lewis of LCS (18:55). Landmarks girls were third with 146 points, behind Wesleyan (67) and Lovett (98). The Lady Eagles were led by Caroline Jones, who came in eighth overall at 21:30. Hope Hurst and Kristina Eden both finished at 23:00, just ahead of Marina Flemmingo (23:08), the top OLM runner.
