Nativity Episcopal to hold Evensong service tonight

Father Michael John Carnevale, a Franciscan Friar from St. Mary's Church in Pompton, N.J., will preach and lead a Choral Evensong service at the Episcopal Church of the Nativity on Wednesday, Oct. 1, at 7:30 p.m. The service, observed since the 14th century, marks the "Transitus," the passing of St. Francis in October, 1226. LDS Church to broadcast conference Saturday, Sunday

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints (LDS) will broadcast its General Conference via satellite this weekend, Oct. 4 and 5, with two sessions broadcast each day. Both Saturday's and Sunday's sessions will be from noon-2 p.m. and from 4-6 p.m. LDS General Conferences are held twice a year and are given by "modern-day, living apostles and prophets," according to Dr. Donald Stokes of the Peachtree City LDS church. Those who wish to hear the conference may do so at the local LDS church in Peachtree City or via the Internet. To access the Internet version, go to www.lds.org, click on "broadcast of general conference," and click on "English." There is no charge to access the conference. The local church is located on the corner of Peachtree Parkway and Ga. Hwy. 54, across from Kroger.

Nativity Episcopal will bless the pets Saturday

The Episcopal Church of the Nativity will host the local community and the diocese for a service of Blessing of the Pets on the Feast Day of St. Francis, Saturday, Oct. 4, at 10:30 a.m. Nativity is at 130 Antioch Rd., Fayetteville. Faith Walk Ministries to offer health fair Oct. 4

A Community Health Fair Day will be offered by Faith Walk Ministries Saturday, Oct. 4, from noon-5 p.m. Activities will include free blood pressure checks, free breast cancer information, free food and activities for children. Whitewater plans cemetery memorial ceremony Sunday

Whitewater Baptist Church will have a memorial service in its cemetery this Sunday afternoon, Oct. 5, to honor those buried there. Worship is at 11 a.m. followed by a covered dish dinner in the fellowship hall and the memorial service in the cemetery at 1:15 p.m. Those who have loved ones buried in the cemetery are especially encouraged to attend.

Providence to offer women's Bible study beginning Oct. 5

Providence United Methodist Church will offer a Sunday evening women's Bible study class beginning Oct. 5 and continuing through Dec. 14. The study will be Beth Moore's "A Heart Like His," an in-depth study of King David. The group will meet from 6-8 p.m. and child care will be provided. FFUMC to hold blood drive Oct. 5

Golden Harps plan overnighter to Colquitt

Christ Our Hope offers Wednesday Communion

Wednesday evening Communion services are held each week at 7:10 p.m. at Christ Our Hope Lutheran Church on Ga. Hwy. 138. The service is a brief, spoken service with a period of silent prayer and meditation. Trinity Christian School plans consignment sale Oct. 18

Trinity Christian School will have its annual children's consignment sale Saturday, Oct. 18, from 9 a.m. until noon. A half-off sale will be held for all remaining items between 2 and 3 p.m. Items available will include children's clothing sizes birth to preteen, maternity clothes, toys and equipment from more than 125 consignors. Clothing will be in good condition and displayed on racks. The school is 1.5 miles west of Peachtree City at the intersection of Ga. Hwys. 34 and 54, behind Collector's Corner.

Harp's Crossing fall festival is Oct. 31

Members of Harp's Crossing Baptist Church will celebrate their fall festival Friday, Oct. 31, from 5:30-9:30 p.m. Among the many activities will be a bungee pull, giant slide, play maze, cake walk, face painting, games, prizes and food. Flat Creek Baptist's revival is Nov. 9-12

Members of Flat Creek Baptist Church will have a revival Sunday through Wednesday, Nov. 9-12, with guest evangelist Gene Williams and music evangelist Billy Jack Green. Sunday services are at 8:30 and 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Weekday services will begin at 7 p.m. Flat Creek is on Flat Creek Trail between Ga.
