Direct PAC, city differ on TDK status

Direct PAC's side of it

The article in today's paper (Sept. 24) about the TDK extension states the mayor of Peachtree City blames Direct PAC for stirring up the issue. The letter dated June 1 is the only comment Direct PAC has ever made on the issue and we stand behind what is stated in the letter.

We are especially concerned that the city council act in a unified manner to prevent embarrassing or inappropriate actions by the mayor. That would seem to include the mayor's current statements showing his lack of cooperation with the unanimous legal action regarding the funding of the engineering plans for the TDK extension taken by the city council on June 5.

We are calling on city council to take action at its next meeting to empower the city manager with all responsibilities connected to the TDK extension and to remove the mayor from his unwarranted meddling in what should clearly be a routine staff function.

Rick Schlosser

Peachtree City, Ga.
