Triathlon sees large turnout Organizers of the first Tri-PTC Sprint Triathlon called the event a huge success, as nearly 300 athletes took part and more than 150 volunteers participated. The group gathered at Drake Field in Peachtree City early last Saturday to swim a half-mile, bike 12 miles and run 3.8 miles around the city. Results have been posted at www.tri-ptc.com. Chris Tanner, 40, won the overall title with a time of 1:12:53. Rounding out the top five were Ken Axford, Jeff Peterson, Bob Dalton and Paul Blaum. The top female finisher was Barbara Chandler, 40, at 1:22:22. She was followd by Michelle Binkley and Kirsten Pretzer. Top male masters (40-over) finishers were Bob Dalton, Jon Durrance and Michael Lemieux. Top female masters finishers were Becky Peterson, Ann Blaum and Valerie Reynolds. Male age group winners included Kristopher Pretzer (15-19), John Howard (20-24), Ashley Folkes (25-29), Chris Wilson (30-34), Mike McCollum (35-39), Michael Lemieux (40-44), Jim Hardee (45-49), Chip Carson (50-54), Rod Coggin (55-59), J.D. Holmes (60-64) and Ben Gross (70-74). Katelyn Goodheart came in first among female under-14 competitors at 1:35:58. Other female age group winners included Elizabeth Boswell (20-24), Stephanie Rosiak (25-29), Leanne Roberts (30-34), Heidi Martin (35-39), Debra Troutman (40-44), Amanda Ott (45-49), Karen Vance (50-54), Winifred Prall (55-59) and Michelle Mathison (60-64).
