Krebiel wins women's 5K with course record

Sophomore Heather Krehbiel of Peachtree City set a course record and won the women’s 5K to lead her Clayton College and State University team at the Mercer Invitational cross-country meet in Byron last weekend.

Her time of 19:27 helped the CCSU women bring home the school’s 11th race title. The Lakers are ranked ninth in the NCAA South Region.

Up next, the Clayton State teams travel to Tuscaloosa, Ala., for the Crimson Classic, hosted by the University of Alabama. The meet, scheduled for Friday, will begin with the women's race at 5 p.m. CDT, followed by the men's race.
