Fayette teams run OLM course

A crowd of runners repeatedly rounded the campus at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic High School during Saturday’s annual invitational cross-country meet, with 21 schools competing at the varsity level in boys and girls competition. Nearly half of these teams are ranked in the top 10 in their respective classifications.

Fayette schools finished 2-3-4 on the boys’ side. Blessed Trinity won the meet with 60 points, followed by Starr’s Mill (64), Our Lady of Mercy (75) and Landmark Christian (144). Spalding and Union Grove were the next two boys’ finishers.

Individually, Daniel Shankle of Starr’s Mill was third with a time of 17:16. Teammate Austin Enriquez was fourth at 17:24. Other local finishers of note included Will Bonn of Landmark (seventh, 17:47); Zach Lethbridge of Our Lady of Mercy (eighth, 17:48); Sankar Sridaran of Starr’s Mill (tenth, 17:54); Jacob McBride of Starr’s Mill (11th, 17:55); Ryan Schilling of OLM (13th, 17:57); Robert Jones of Landmark (14th, 18:15); and Jag Santha of OLM (15th, 18:20).

Northgate won the girls’ competition with 63 points, followed by Holy Innocents (71), Landmark (74), Starr’s Mill (94), Blessed Trinity (138) and Galloway (210).
