Couple organizes Fayetteville prayer walk

Jon and Cindy Watson are asking members of the community to join them on Saturday mornings during September to walk "through the land and pray, claiming it for the Lord." The Watsons will meet others at 9 a.m. at the gazebo in Fayetteville, dividing the city into different sections each week to pray until they have walked the length and breadth of the city. The walk will take 30 minutes to an hour to complete. All ages are invited. The prayer walk is based on a verse from Genesis: "Go, walk through the length and breadth of the land, for I am giving it to you." (Genesis 13:17). Bethany UMC schedules World Crafts Sale

Bethany United Methodist Church will have its second annual Ten Thousand Villages Crafts Sale Saturday, Oct. 11, from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Arts and crafts from all over the world will be featured. National Heights Baptist plans yard sale

The young adults at National Heights Baptist Church will sponsor a yard sale Saturday, Sept. 27, from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. Booth spaces (9' x 15") are available for a donation of $10 per space with advance registration. 'Dino' to appear in Jonesboro

Release Ministries to hold healing service

FCC senior adults plan north Ga. trip

The Senior Adult Ministry (SAM) at Fayetteville Christian Church will travel to Dawsonville to visit the Kangaroo Conservation Center and Hubert Bailey's Border Collie Farm on Thursday, Sept. 25. Following the tours, the group will visit the North Georgia Outlet Mall for shopping and lunch. The cost of $30 per person includes the tours only. Nativity to hold Choral Evensong service

Father Michael John Carnevale, a Franciscan Friar from St. Mary's Church in Pompton, N.J., will preach and lead a Choral Evensong service at the Episcopal Church of the Nativity on Wednesday, Oct. 1, at 7:30 p.m. The service, observed since the 14th century, marks the "Transitus," the passing of St. Francis in October, 1226.
