'Sisters: United' meet at New Hope

In a world of reality television, how does a woman know what it means to be a "real" woman?

Last January, nearly 400 women from all over Fayette County began a "Journey to Authentic Womanhood." These women came together at "Sisters: United" at New Hope North twice a month on Monday nights.

At the end of spring, over 90 percent of the women said they had begun to grasp a definition of womanhood, while 84 percent said they had made new friendships.

"Sisters: United" continue their journey Sept. 22 at 7 p.m. as they examine topics such as "Temptation Island," "Centering Your Life," "Your Work Matters to God" and "Ties That Don't Bind."

The group meets two Monday nights a month and is free of charge, and all women are invited to attend. A dinner from Chick-fil-A is available at 6:30 p.m. for purchase and childcare is also available at a low cost with reservations.

The sessions are held at New Hope Baptist Church in the Rainbow Room. For more information or to register, contact Women's Ministry at 770-461-4337, ext.560 or www.newhopebc.org/nhwomens.htm.
