"Les Miserables" ended its successful 16-year run on Broadway earlier this year, making it the second longest running show in Broadway History. Atlanta audiences will get to experience the show over the next two weeks at the Fox Theater in Atlanta.

"Les Miserbles" is based on Victor Hugo's novel of the same name. The story focuses on Jean Valjean, a fugitive, who is constantly being pursued by Inspector Javert. The chase spans over three decades in France. Some of the more famous numbers from "Les Miserables" are "Bring Him Home," "Drink With Me," and "Master of the House." The musical also features an incredible set which includes a 34-foot turntable, two barricades that weigh over 12,000 pounds, over 1,000 costumes, five fog machines, 422 lighting instruments, 18 orchestra members and 36 cast members.

Among the cast are Randal Keith as Jean Valjean, James Clow as Inspector Javert and Tonya Dixon as Fantine. All three have Broadway experience and Keith was last seen on Broadway as part of the final Broadway cast of "Les Miserables." The show has been translated to 21 languages, and has ben performed in 38 countries and in 213 cities. There have been 36,000 performances of "Les Miserables" and 48 million people have seen the show. It has won 50 major theater awards including eight Tony Awards.

Performances of "Les Miserables" are scheduled for 8 p.m., Tuesdays-Saturdays with matinee performances available Saturdays and Sundays at 2 p.m. and a Sunday evening performance at 7:30 p.m. The show will run through Sept. 21. Ticket prices range from $20-$57. Phone 404-817-8700 or visit www.ticketmaster.com
