Landmark, Starr's Mill among ranked teams

The Lady War Eagles of Landmark Christian are off to a strong start on the volleyball court, with a 10-4 record and a number-three ranking in the state behind Westminster and Marist (all volleyball teams in all classifications are ranked together).

Landmark’s most recent wins came last week over St. Pius (25-20, 25-18) and Lassiter (25-12, 25-13) in a tri-meet at St. Pius. The team’s only losses have come to Marist, Woodward, and a team from Tennessee. They return to the court tomorrow at North Springs.

Sandy Creek: The Lady Patriots won easily over Heritage and Union Grove last week.

Starr’s Mill: The 17th-ranked Lady Panthers faced off last week against two other teams from the top 20, defeating No. 16 Athens Academy (15-25, 25-20, 15-12) and falling to No. 20 Harrison (22-25, 19-25) in a tri-meet at Harrison. The team’s overall record moved to 12-2 going into last night’s home matches against Newnan and Riverdale.
