Area football coverage is a joke

The local football coverage is a joke in this area. I find it pathetic that a local area newspaper would stand for such anemic coverage of high school football.

Wake up and smell the gridiron, guys. Friday night football in a county like this deserves more coverage. If nothing else, the more you report on [football], the more interest you will draw to a tradition that has gone virtually unnoticed in this area for a long time.

Look at Cobb County, for instance. Look at all those schools. You open the sports page during fall and are overwhelmed with numerous articles. It is a shame that a county of only four high schools can't get more extensive articles.

And don't tell me it's not in our budget. Just have your reporters spend more time on football and less time on articles of insignificant subject matter.
