New Zaxby's under construction
Brothers Jon and Michael Windham and partner Jim Glenfield have begun construction on Peachtree City's newest Zaxby's, a Southeast favorite for chicken fingers and Buffalo wings. The restaurant, located at 201 Worth Court next to Bruster's on Ga. Highway 54, will showcase Zaxby's newest building design and create an additional 40 jobs for the area. The owners plan to open the new restaurant early fall, and they look forward to introducing the Zaxby's concept and offerings. "Zaxby's has committed to doing one thing and doing it better than anyone else and that's chicken," Jon Windham said. "We serve it and dress it in different ways, but it's the great food combined with great service that we know will make Zaxby's a favorite gathering place for friends and family in Peachtree City." "We're confident that Zaxby's will become a great addition to the community," added Michael. This will be the partners' first Zaxby's restaurant, and yet they already have their eye on two additional site locations in Fayette County. One is planned in north Fayetteville near Fayette Pavilion, and the second in South Fayetteville near the Town Center Shopping Center. "I have great faith in the Zaxby's brand," said Glenfield, also a resident of Fayette County. "This is an exciting area that presents a great opportunity for us to grow as a business, employer and community partner." Zaxby's built its business, which now includes more than 150 restaurants throughout the Southeast, on providing the freshest chicken fingers, Buffalo wings, sandwiches, and more in a fun, relaxing atmosphere. The 3,500-square-foot restaurant will feature a bright, open interior décor complemented by vintage memorabilia and signage, and comfortable booths and tables with a seating capacity of 90. Zaxby's phone-in and drive-thru services provide an added convenience for customers. "We'll provide fresh, high-quality meals that are a step above fast food," said Michael. "In addition to individual meals, we also offer a variety of party platters ideal for events at work, home and even tailgating." In addition to being a partner, Glenfield will also serve as general manager of the new Zaxby's. He is accepting applications to staff the new restaurant and expects to hire nearly 40, primarily cooks and cashiers. Individuals are encouraged to either call or fax a resume to 770-716-3298. "The key to success at Zaxby's is a great smile and a willingness to learn and grow," said Glenfield. "We're a different kind of restaurant with a different kind of attitude - from the food and service we provide to our customers, to the respect we provide to each other." Zaxby's success is rooted in a simple operating philosophy developed by its founders that has matured into the company's mission statement "consistently create encore experiences that enrich lives one person at a time." That statement is not only the driving force behind the company's pursuit to provide fresh, delicious food and excellent customer service, it's also what helps the company create a vibrant atmosphere for employees. Zaxby's places a special emphasis on customer service and believes that is best achieved by first creating a great atmosphere for employees. Zaxby's most popular items are its hand-breaded fresh chicken fingers and fresh jumbo Buffalo wings, smothered in a choice of eight sauces with names like Wimpy, Tongue Torch, Nuclear and Insane. An alternative to fast food, Zaxby's offers fresh, prepared-to-order chicken wings, Nuggetz, Fingerz and Zalads. The menu offers innovative Zappetizers - Tater Chips (home-style potato chips), Onion Peel and made-from-scratch Spicy Fried Mushrooms. Zaxby's is a "quick-casual" restaurant chain headquartered in Athens, Ga. Zaxby's has more than 155 restaurants throughout the Southeast. The Zaxby's menu features fresh, made-from-scratch chicken fingers, Buffalo wings, sandwiches and fresh-made salads.
