No class
at Fred concerts
You'd think that, with all the lovely homes in this area, citizens would demonstrate good manners. But we all know money can't buy class. I looked so forward to the Peter Frampton concert at the Frederick J. Brown Amphitheater. The music was terrific, what I could hear of it. And the performers were fun to watch, when I could see them. The purpose of attending a concert is to see and hear the performers. If you want to meet the band, wait near the stage after the show; do not wave and yell to them all evening, in front of other paying fans. If you want to be part of a show, take singing and dancing lessons and get your own gig; do not wiggle in front of others for two hours (honestly, you don't look that great). If you want to have a two-hour conversation, sell your tickets and go to a restaurant or stay home. I am not interested in hearing the current gossip from your neighborhood. I am not talking about getting on your feet for a song or two, or sharing a comment now and then. The people we sat near showed no consideration for others all evening. Remember, just because a concert is outdoors doesn't mean it's not rude to talk and keep others from enjoying the performance. My kids learned that in elementary school. I am not there to meet the band or to be on stage. My conversations can wait until later. I am just a music lover who hopes very much to be allowed to enjoy the show I paid to see and hear.
