Moms for Moms kicks off fall season at First Baptist in PTC

The Moms for Moms group at the First Baptist Church in Peachtree City will have its fall kickoff meeting Tuesday, Aug. 26, at 9:15 a.m. with guest speaker Fran Krigline of Walking in Joy Ministries. Krigline, a former area resident, is now pursuing a master of divinity degree at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. She is the mother of three, a former teacher, and teaches a weekly ladies Bible study and an adult Sunday School class.

Krigline also has a television ministry and speaks at banquets, luncheons and seminars.

"Fran's strength is to combine biblical truth, practical application and humor," said Jennifer Marcontell, facilitator for the local Moms for Moms group.

Moms for Moms is a diverse group of women who meet weekly during the school year for fellowship, Bible study, and mentoring. The group's motto is "Serving God, Our Families, and Each Other."

"Our goal is for everyone in the group to strengthen their relationship with God, while forming bonds with other women who are striving to build strong families," Marcontell said. "The atmosphere of the group is exciting and fun. Each woman also is assigned to a small group with a mentoring mom, who gets to know each lady on a more intimate level."

The group meets weekly from 9:15-11:30 a.m. Tuesday mornings at First Baptist Church in Peachtree City. Child care is free at the church with a reservation. Meetings begin with breakfast and fellowship time, followed by a group Bible study, then small group time with the mentoring moms. All Bible studies are focused on issues that directly affect modern day mothers. Practical application of mothering tips and biblical principles are emphasized.

A Bible study, entitled "Following God: Learning Life Principles from the Women of the Bible," will begin Tuesday, Sept. 2 at the church. Coffee, juice, and light refreshments will be served at each meeting.

All mothers in the area are welcome to join. For further information, contact Jennifer Marcontell, 770-631-0969.
