Ball gets new sponsor

MarySue Goza, co-chairperson of the First Annual Cattle Barons' Ball of Fayette County, has "rounded up" a group of local surgeons to join the fundraising festivities this coming October.

Fayette Surgical Associates has agreed to sponsor a cookbook full of the best recipes from some of Fayette County's finest cooks.

The cookbook will be given as a thank you gift to attendees of the Cattle Barons' Ball. Goza admittedly has some special "pull" with this group of physicians, since her husband and Cattle Barons' Ball co-chairperson, John Goza M.D., is a partner in the group. Joining Dr. Goza in his commitment to the American Cancer Society, are his associates, Dr. C. Seth Rion and Dr. Russell A. Wilson.

The First Annual Cattle Barons' Ball of Fayette County is Oct. 18 at the Kiwanis Exhibition Hall in Fayetteville. The Cattle Barons' Ball is a major source of funding for the American Cancer Society. The proceeds from this event will contribute to the local programs of the American Cancer Society that are made available to the community free of charge as well as funding research and development.

The physicians of Fayette Surgical Associates realize that they reap the benefits of the research being performed by the ACS with new treatments and therapies. Their patients also benefit from the incredible support services provided by ACS as well. They encourage others to join the fun fund raising event as a way to reach out to family, friends and neighbors who have been touched by cancer. Their hope is that the Cattle Barons' Ball will one day be purely a social event to celebrate the cure for cancer and an evening to recognize those who helped to defeat it.
