Evening communion resumes

Wednesday evening communion services, which had been suspended for the summer, will resume tonight, Aug. 13, at 7:10 p.m. at Christ Our Hope Lutheran Church on Ga. Hwy. 138. The service is a brief, spoken service with a period of silent prayer and meditation. UMW plans open house

The United Methodist Women's group at Fayetteville First United Methodist Church will have an open house for women in the community Sunday, Aug. 24, from 2-4 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall behind the sanctuary. The purpose is to share information about the mission programs and other activities offered by the various circles and women's groups in the church. The church is at 175 East Lanier Ave. (Ga. Hopewell's homecoming is Aug. 24

Hopewell United Methodist Church will celebrate its 149th homecoming Aug. 24. Sunday School will be at 9:45 a.m. and morning worship will be at 11 a.m. The Rev. Ed Nelson, a former pastor, will deliver the message. Following the service, a covered dish dinner will be served in the pavilion on the church grounds. PTC First Baptist plans fall Bible study

Palmetto church to celebrate 126 years

Friendship Baptist Church in Palmetto will celebrate its 126th anniversary Sunday, Aug. 17. Worship service will begin at 10:30 a.m., followed by a dinner on the grounds at noon. All members, former members and guests are welcome. The church is at 6090 Cochran Mill Rd.

FCC schedules variety show

Members of the Fayetteville Christian Church will have a summer variety show Sunday, Aug. 24, at 6:30 p.m. The event will feature skits, songs and talent presentations. For more information, call Kevin Adkins at the church office, 770-461-8763.
