Last Fling coming this weekend Mark your calendars for Peachtree City Parks and Recreation Department's 14th Annual Last Fling. This family event will take place on Saturday, Aug. 9 from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Shakerag Knoll off McIntosh Trail adjacent to the BMX Track. Admission to the Last Fling is free, and many games, prizes and amusements are also free. Doodle the Clown will paint faces and make special balloons. There will also be a Giant Slide, the Iron Man Obstacle Course, Moon Walks and more. Also the popular 24' Drop A Roc Climbing Wall can be challenged for $3 a climb. New this year will be pony rides for a nominal fee. Entertainment will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. featuring local bands and groups. The Atlanta Thrashers Community Outreach Team will conduct a street hockey clinic from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and, another new addition to Last Fling will be Extreme Artists. They will express their creativity live, as they spray paint on a plywood canvass. Non-profit youth groups will provide food vendor booths. A variety of tasty foods such as hot dogs, bratwurst, chick-fil-a, cotton candy and many other treats will be available. Bring your family and enjoy a day of fun.
