FCFT presents 'The Princess and the Pea' with a pizza dinner By MICHAEL
BOYLAN Why should dinner theater be reserved for adults looking for a night away from the kids? Fayette Coweta Family Theatre's professional troupe, A Company of Friends, thinks kids deserve a taste of dinner theater as well. They will present a musical production of "The Princess and the Pea" for four performances this Thursday and Friday. The story of the princess and the pea involves a king and queen hoping to find an appropriate wife for their son, the prince. A young woman comes to the door of the castle seeking shelter and the queen tests the young woman to see if she is a princess by placing a pea beneath many mattresses. The young woman teaches the entire royal family an important lesson about treating others with respect. A Company of Friends has taken the show on tour this summer, performing at library reading programs, child care facilities and summer camps. They will perform the show Thursday and Friday at 4:30 and 6:30 p.m each day at the Heritage Ridge Community Center in Newnan. After the show, which runs approximately 40 minutes, the audience will get a chance to eat and then meet the characters from the show. Tickets are $5 for a one piece pizza meal and $6 for a two piece pizza meal. Advance tickets are a must, so phone 770-599-0051 or visit www.fcft.net/PandPDinner.
