Religion Briefs Rolling Hills Baptist to offer Prayer of Jabez seminar Rolling Hills Baptist Church will offer a free, live seminar on The Prayer of Jabez each Wednesday, from 6:30-7:30 p.m., beginning Aug. 6 and continuing through Aug. 27. Amy Grant to perform in Jonesboro Friday Amy Grant will perform in concert at Jonesboro First Baptist Church Friday, Aug. 8, at 8 p.m. in the church worship center. Doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets are available at any Family Christian Bookstore with the purchase of Grant's CD, "Simple Things."
FFUMC observes camp meeting month Members of the Fayetteville First United Methodist Church will observe the traditional Georgia Methodist camp meeting month during the month of August. During Sunday morning services, dress will be casual and old hymns will be featured. The church is at 175 East Lanier Ave. in downtown Fayetteville. Sunday morning services are at 8:30, 9:45 and 11 a.m.
Inman UMC plans Disciple Bible study orientation Inman United Methodist Church will have an orientation meeting for those interested in taking the 34-week Disciple I Bible study course which will conclude in 2004. The meeting will be Sunday, Aug. 10, from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at the church. Disciple is an in-depth study of the books of the Bible for small groups (12 or fewer) and covers both the Old and New Testaments. Disciple I is the introductory course. Fayetteville Christian to host backpack party Members of the Fayetteville Christian Church will have a Backpack-Back-to-School party for children in the community Saturday, Aug. 9, from 10 a.m.-noon, in the church gym. The purpose is to help provide school supplies for needy children in the community. The event is sponsored by the church's Community Outreach Ministry. Whitewater Baptist 180th homecoming is Aug. 10 Members of Whitewater Baptist Church invite past pastors, former members and members of the community to attend their 180th homecoming this Sunday, Aug. 10, with special activities following the 11 a.m. worship service. Members will serve a covered dish dinner in the fellowship hall, then proceed to the sanctuary for a special singing service featuring the Tommy Goodwin Group. |
