Losing weight wisely Douglas Wendt of Sharpsburg recently lost 100 pounds and 95 inches. He went from a size 48 to a size 36 pants in just over a year. Wendt lost his excess weight through the program at Hi- Energy Weight Control Centers in Newnan and Peachtree City. He says the program has taught him how to control his eating, how to make wise choices when eating out, and has improved his self-esteem. "I like the way I look now," he said. As a direct result of his weight loss he enjoys a normal blood pressure and absence of pain in his knees. His wife, Sandy Wendt, says that she saw him go into the program with determination and hope for changing his life-long struggle with weight control. Mrs. Wendt said he never enjoyed shopping for clothes in the past but now takes pleasure in it. She helped her husband through his program by preparing his food correctly, encouraging, praising and praying for him. She also attended Hi-Energy classes on his behalf, and passed the information on to him. Mr. Wendt now helps choose and buy their foods and is eager to share his successful weight loss story with anyone who is interested. He is currently participating in the maintenance phase of his program. Dr. David Towery opened the Hi-Energy Weight Control Center in Newnan 19 months ago as a solution for weight loss for his overweight patients with low back pain. "Hi-Energy Weight Control Center is a healthy, natural solution to fad diets, and medical programs." said Towery. "I strongly believe this is the best weight loss program on the planet. My counselors teach clients how to change lifestyles in order to prevent regaining their weight." Recently, Towery also bought full ownership of the Peachtree City center from his former business partner. With two locations, in Newnan and Peachtree City, Hi-Energy offers individualized plans and counseling, group sessions, and medical evaluations to clients seeking to lose weight.
