Local residents to perform with St. Mark's choir

Several residents of Fayette and Coweta counties are among the members of a 60-voice choir at St. Mark United Methodist Church in Atlanta which will perform Sunday, Aug. 10, at 3 p.m., in a special centennial celebration production of "Mark Their Words - A Century of Broadway Music." The church is celebrating 100 years at the corner of 5th and Peachtree in Atlanta. The salute to Broadway lyricists and composers will include selections from Anything Goes, Oklahoma, The Music Man, Purlie, A Little Night Music, Damn Yankees, Seussical, Rent, Thoroughly Modern Millie and many other musicals. The benefit concert is free, but donations will be accepted to go toward the cost of the choir's annual retreat.

Bell to speak at Body of Christ

Joel Bell, founder of Night Fighters, will be the special guest speaker at the Body of Christ Church International, U.S.A., Wednesday, July 30, at 7:30 p.m. Parents are encouraged to bring their teens to this event. The Body of Christ is at 3650 Flat Shoals Rd. in College Park. For more information, call 770-472-4800.

Eating Disorders Anonymous meets Wednesdays

Eating Disorders Anonymous, a faith-based 12-step program for people with eating disorders, meets every Wednesday at 7 p.m. in Room 302 at the Peachtree City United Methodist Church, Robinson Road Campus, 225 Robinson Road. EDA is a fellowship of individuals who share their experience, strength and hope with each other so that in sharing their common problems, they may help others to recover from their eating disorders. Each meeting consists of a devotional or Bible study followed by a period of discussion and sharing. The group is open to high-school-age students and adults. Bethany members head for Salem camp meeting

Several members of Bethany United Methodist Church will attend the Salem UMC camp meeting Thursday, July 31 in Conyers. The annual event is held at the Salem Campground on Salem Road. National Heights youth plan rafting trip

Youth and young adults at National Heights Baptist Church are planning a rafting trip on the Ocoee River Aug. 2. Approximate cost is $40 plus meals. For more information, call the church office, 770-461-1704 or 770-461-3899.

Wednesday communion services suspended

Wednesday evening communion services at Christ Our Hope Lutheran Church have been temporarily suspended for the summer. Services will resume Aug. 13 at 7:10 p.m.
