Christ the King youth complete mission project in Troup County

A team of youth from Christ the King Charismatic Episcopal Church in Sharpsburg participated in a recent home missions and evangelism project on behalf of St. Matthew's Charismatic Episcopal Church in Hogansville, a mission congregation of Christ the King planted in 2002. The team met several times prior to the missions outreach to discuss plans and strategy, to prepare materials to be used, and to pray for Hogansville and Troup County.

The weekend before the event, the team visited door-to-door to invite children and youth to a week-long backyard Bible study held on five consecutive mornings in Hogansville. The study drew a number of children from the community.

Adults providing leadership for the event included, the Rev. Dcn. Don Clemmer, vicar of St. Matthew's, the Rev. Dcn. David Neece, youth coordinator for the Diocese of Georgia, and Dr. Judith Massey, commissioned minister of missions and evangelism in the International Communion of the Charismatic Episcopal Church.

Team members were recognized recently during a morning worship service at Christ the King. They included: Taylor Ford of Fayetteville; Janna Gossett, Ashley Lauria, Amanda Hale and Meredith Lytle of Peachtree City; and Amy Zauner, Allison Zauner, Jesse Zauner and Erin Zauner, all of Newnan.

St. Matthew's meets each Sunday evening at 5 p.m. on Main Street in Hogansville, and Christ the King meets Sunday mornings at 8 and 10 a.m. at 4881 Ga. Hwy. 34 East, between Peachtree City and Newnan.
