Thursday Thunder: Fayette County Drivers

At the midpoint of the 2003 Thursday Thunder series, which came after the July 3 races, intense point battles and competition continue, and the Fayette County drivers are at the center of the action.

Jonathan Chandler, 13, of Fayetteville finished 11th in the Moore Machinery Movers Young Guns division last week and remains third in points. Jonathan earned a season-best second in week three and has an average finish of sixth place this season. He has earned three top-5 finishes this season.

Matt Cox, 13, of Fayetteville finished fifth in the Legends Chargers division last week, his best finish this season. Matt is currently 15th in points and has an average finish of 12th place.

Michael Herrington, 34, of Tyrone finished 16th in the Legends Semi-Pro division in week five, dropping him from seventh to ninth in the points standings. Michael earned a best finish of seventh place in week four and has an average finish of 11th place this season.

Douglas Ludwig, 18, of Fayetteville finished fourth in the Legends Pro division last week and remains the points leader. Douglas earned wins in weeks three and four. He has an average finish of third this season and has earned a top-5 finish in each of the races in which he has competed.

Trey Maughan of Fayetteville finished second in the Moore Machinery Movers Young Guns division last week and remains the points leader. Having earned wins in both weeks three and four, Trey maintains an average finish of second place. He has earned a top-5 finish in each of the races in which he has competed this season.

Robert Mowery of Fayetteville finished 15th in the Moore Machinery Movers Bandolero Young Guns division in week five and remains eighth in points. Robert finished tenth in weeks one and three, his best finishes this season. He has an average finish of 11th place in his first season competing in the Thursday Thunder series.

Bre Sharp, 12, of Fayetteville finished tenth in the Moore Machinery Movers Bandolero Young Guns division last week and remains fifth in the points standings. Bre enjoyed a finish of fourth in week two, her best finish this season. She has an average season finish of seventh place.
