Obituaries

Charlie Russell Windom Sr.


Charlie Russell Windom Sr., 57, Griffin, died June 25, 2003. He was born March 20, 1946 in Franklin, Ga., the son of William and Essie Windom. He was preceded in death by his wife of 33 years, Vickie Windom, a son, Charlie Russell Windom Jr., and a daughter, Angie Rebecca Windom.
He was a member and a lay minister in Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, High Falls, Georgia and carried his ministry further, participating in a truck stop ministry. He had been self-employed as a dry wall contractor.
Services were at the Jones Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Howard English officiating. Interment was at Happy Hill Cemetery, Clem, Georgia.
Survivors include a brother, James Windom, Griffin; and sisters, Louise Roberts, Newnan, Helen Windom, Hampton, Dianne Luna, Hapeville, and Gail Roberts, Jackson.
Jones Funeral Home, Newnan, was in charge.

Glenn E. Seaton


Glenn E. Seaton, major, United States Air Force retired, 78, Sharpsburg, died June 25, 2003. He was born Aug. 28, 1924 in Sevierville, Tenn., the son of the late Charles E. and Elizabeth Ward Seaton. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Wilda Kerley.
He was inducted into the Army before graduating from Sevierville County High School in 1943, and by the time he was 20 years old, was flying bombers over the Hump, from India to China, loaded with re-supplying fuel. He retired after 22 years of Air Force service and began a civilian career with the Federal Aviation Administration, retiring with 20 years of service.
Services were at the Parrott Funeral Home chapel with Chaplain Calvin Smith officiating. Interment was at Shiloh Cemetery, Pigeon Forge, Tenn.
Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Ruth Ann Seaton, Sharpsburg; a nephew, John Sims, Knoxville, Tenn.; and nieces, Diane Rogers, Greenback, Tenn., and Janie Stalcup, Nashville, Ind.
Parrott Funeral Home, Fairburn, was in charge.

Amanda Goss Freeman


Amanda Goss Freeman, 31, died June 26, 2003. She was born Aug. 19, 1971 in Fulton County, Ga.
Services were the Peachtree City United Methodist Church with the Rev. Chuck Hodges and Marty Lee officiating. Interment was at Oak Hill Cemetery, Newnan.
Survivors include her husband, James Kenneth Freeman, Newnan; a son, Andrew Freeman, Newnan; parents, Dorsey and Ruth Goss, Luthersville; a sister, Mary Beth Goss, Luthersville; maternal grandparents, Joe and Sybil Lewis, Grantville; and paternal grandmother, Mary L. Goss, East Point.
Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home, Peachtree City, was in charge.
