Tickets for 'The Music Man' on sale now

It is one of America's most beloved musicals of all time and presenting it the week of the Fourth of July is a perfect fit.

Fayette Players and Community Theatre will present Meredith Willson's "The Music Man" at Sams Auditorium in Fayetteville beginning July 2. The cast and crew have been working hard for months, learning their songs and choreography. The cast of the show is quite large and full of families. The husband and wife team of Miranda and Stephen Davis as Marian the Librarian and Professor Harold Hill, while other cast members are father/daughter or mother/daughtr/son groups. The family experience has been beneficial for members of the cast as they have spent four nights a week working on what will certainly be a high quality show.

"The Music Man" is about Hill, a con man selling the idea of a marching band to the townsfolk of River City, Iowa. His plans change as he falls in love with a local librarian but what happens whe she and the town find out about his plans? "The Music Man" will have two preview performances July 2-3 and then will run at 7:30 p.m., Thursdays-Saturdays through July 19. There will be one Sunday matinee performance Sunday, July 6, at 2:30 p.m.

Tickets are $5 for the preview performances July 2-3. For the remainder fo the run the ticket prices are $8 for children and $12 for adults. Phone 770-631-8568.
