Ebenezer UMC's Homecoming, 120th anniversary is Sunday Fayette County's Ebenezer United Methodist Church will celebrate 120 years of service to the community with a day-long Homecoming event planned for this Sunday, June 8. Members say the day will be filled with "old-fashioned preaching, eating and fun." Former pastor Fred Heard, who served Ebenezer from 1983-1987, will be the guest preacher. A covered-dish dinner on the grounds will follow the morning service and everyone is encouraged to wear clothing in the styles of the 1800s. All members, former members and friends are encouraged to attend. Ebenezer came into the Methodist conference in 1883 and has alternately shared pastors with several Methodist churches through the years.
