Of faith, food and footsteps: inspirational cookbook provides guidance and insight Shirley Strauss of Peachtree City says her personal growth in faith provided her with the inspiration and guidance for her recently published book, "In My Kitchen With My God Food for Thought for Your Journey of Faith," an inspirational cookbook which seeks to answer questions asked by everyday people on their journey of faith. Strauss says her personal experience as a wife, mother, R.N. and elementary school teacher helped to develop her strong belief in God's presence in every aspect of each person's life. "As a Stephen Minister, I have seen the crisis of faith that tragedy can bring, "Strauss said, "but also the comfort and peace which God can provide at those difficult times." Strauss says she is trying to help persons find knowledge of themselves and knowledge of their Creator through her poems and meditations, and hopes to lead people to reflect on their own spirituality while they accompany her on her own personal journey of faith. "What is a journey of faith? Where are you on your faith journey?" Strauss asks. These and other thought-provoking questions are those she addresses in her book. "The book is intended to be inspiring and encouraging reading for anyone in search of a deeper relationship with God," Strauss says. The book is currently available at Omega Bookstore in Peachtree City. |
