New community organization focuses on quality of life

The Community Wellness Alliance, a national nonprofit membership organization, has announced its newest affiliated chapter in Fayette County.

Founded on the premise that "Healthy Communities Are Better Communities," the CWA galvanizes communities with high quality programs, information and events to help consumers adopt healthy lifestyles. The organization helps people move toward a life-focus of health, and the discovery of human potential to educate and empower its members to live vital and abundant lives.

Dr. Rod Justice chartered the Fayette County CWA chapter and stated, "It's difficult for many people to accept that their personal wellness is ultimately up to them. We live in a culture that's been taught to seek relief from symptoms rather than seeking lifestyles that provide vitality and abundant health. The Community Wellness Alliance provides us the vehicle to touch and change the lives of many thousands in Fayette County. Imagine the Fayette County of tomorrow it will be filled with people enjoying and living life to the fullest! The CWA program is important to our community today and will be for generations to come."

Future CWA programs and events range from very small personal venues to large events hosting thousands of people. Some of the Fayette County CWA activities will include regularly scheduled informative meetings, community happenings, celebrity-hosted events and entertainment, and the start up of wellness businesses to serve the needs of consumers across the United States. In addition, the chapter has immediate plans for a monthly CWA Bulletin to provide the community with ongoing information.

D. Susan Duck, the national Community Wellness Alliance director of communication, congratulated the community on establishing the new chapter and noted, "Dr. Justice and the leaders of Fayette County have demonstrated their desire to move this community into the next universal health reality called wellness. We look forward to seeing people in this community become actively engaged in wellness lifestyles, and even more close-knit through the CWA program. The CWA national staff stands ready to support the important initiatives of the Fayette County chapter."

The Community Wellness Alliance is the largest national nonprofit organization committed exclusively to the well being of people everywhere. Serving millions of Americans, the CWA through chapters across the nation provides extraordinary information, programs and products to help people live wellness lifestyles, take responsibility for their health, and work toward their health potential.
