Daly reps attend called meeting of Library Commission By MICHAEL
BOYLAN
The Peachtree City Library Commission had a special called meeting on Tuesday and the Leo Daly Company, responsible for the design of the library renovation and possible expansion, was present. Members of Leo Daly walked the premises with the city's Facilities Manager and pinpointed certain areas of concern, such as an area of the roof that leaks and some areas where security could be a problem. The Leo Daly Company is also looking into what aspects of the library will need to change over the next 20 years, so that they and the library can plan ahead. The meeting gave the engineers and architects from Leo Daly a clearer picture of what will need to be done to the library. There will be a meeting Wednesday, June 18, at 7 p.m. and Jill Prouty, technology and training manager of the Peachtree City Library, encourages members of the public to attend. Citizens will be asked to give their input on what the library needs and what things should be a part of the renovation and possible expansion. The meeting will take place in the Floy Farr room of the library. The Library Commission is aiming to have a design ready for the end of July as they attempt to get a bond referendum to pay for the project on the November ballot.
