Colorado comes to Peachtree City By
F.C. FOODIE
For months, travelers on Ga. Highway 54 in Peachtree City have driven by a new development across from Publix and speculated on what new restaurants would be coming to their fair city. Bruster's Ice Cream was the first establishment to open, which created a great deal of excitement with the county's children. But the newest venture that opened three weeks ago is creating a whole bunch of smiles for adults who love good dining. Buckhead Brewery is drawing crowds of hungry Fayette foodies looking for another choice in restaurants. The eatery looks like a Colorado ski lodge, complete with antler lighting accessories. This place could easily fit in with the powdery slopes of Aspen or Vail, but thankfully, we don't have to trek through snow to satisfy our appetites. The menu features a wide-variety of choices for the most discriminating foodie. Want fresh seafood? They offer fresh salmon and seared tuna. How about steaks? A wonderful prime rib and other cuts of cow will make the most devoted carnivore happy. Looking for something exotic? A bison tenderloin offers a wonderful cut of meat with far less fat grams than ordinary beef. Tired of the same old place for lunch? Stop in for an enormous bowl of chili or a blackened grouper sandwich that makes the bun groan from the enormous cut of fish. How about freshly-made beer? Buckhead Brewery offers several varieties of their hand-crafted suds shipped over from their location in Stockbridge. Despite the crowds that have flocked to the restaurant, service has been impeccable. In two visits, the service seems a notch above many local restaurants, and the servers are happy to accommodate special requests. Buckhead Brewery is a welcome addition to the county's dining scene, and its moderate prices should keep customers coming back for repeat visits.
