All-region soccer team announced

Fayette schools are well-represented on the All-Region 5-AAAAA girls soccer squad announced this week.

McIntosh and Starr's Mill each places four players on the 14-member team, with Fayette County High garnering two selections.

Defender Susan O'Brien of Starr's Mill was the sole unanimous selection. Other Lady Panthers joining her on the team are forward Kelly O'Hara and midfielders Tannah Castro and Beth Meadors.

McIntosh representatives include forward Jesse Lenze, midfielders Kari Quinn and Katie Shulz, and defender Joni Vickers.

Midfielder Sarah Oxford and defender Chelsy Yarbrough are the Fayette County Lady Tigers who made all-region.

The other four spots on the squad are represented by Newnan High: Forward Lanie Scott, midfielder Christie McDonald, defender Lauren Clifton and goalkeeper Kristen Moore.
