Two nights of delights at Stars on the Southern Crescent coffee house By MICHAEL BOYLAN Though the weather is warmer, it is still nice to enjoy a warm beverage and some desserts while sitting down to some eclectic entertainment. Offshoot Productions will present two different lineups of the Stars of the Southern Crescent coffee house this Friday and Saturday, May 9 and 10. Friday night's lineup will feature storyteller Susan Deaver, musical duo "Amazing Idiots," and magician Joe M. Turner. Deaver is a charter member of the Southern order of Storytellers and has performed at a number of festivals. The "Amazing Idiots" have a wide selection of songs that are seriously silly and are always a crowd pleaser. Turner has performed all over North America and has appeared on CNN Headline News. He has also won several sleight of hand competitions in the Southeast. Saturday's lineup will feature Minnie Tee, storytelling by Rohan Bayer-Fox and the humor and song stylings of Andy Offutt Irwin. Minnie Tee will perform a cabaret, while Bayer-Fox will bring an entirely different form of storytelling to the stage than Deaver. Irwin has performed at several previous coffee houses and has delighted audiences all over. Offshoot Productions' Stars on the Southern Crescent coffee house will take place at the Fayette Family YMCA, located at 215 Huiet Road, Fayetteville. Doors open at 7:45 p.m. and the show will start at 8:15 p.m. Tickets are $8 for general audience and $6 for senior citizens and children under the age of 12. For group ticket information, reservations or more information on the coffee house, phone 770-631-2362 or e-mail to offshootpr@aol.com.
