SCV honors Vietnam vet

A member of the Sharpsburg Sharpshooters Sons of Confederate Veterans, James Dunagan, was honored by the group for his participation in the Vietnam war.

He entered the United States Navy in May of 1961 and was assigned to the Mobile Construction Battalion #7, better known as the Seabees.

Dunagan also participated in the Guantánamo Bay of Pigs invasion in 1961. He was discharged in September, 1965.

Member Jim Goodrum presented him with the Sons of Confederate Veterans War Service Medal for devoting a portion of his life to the defense of his country.
