Spin-a-thon fundraiser set for Friday

Members and friends of Gold's Gym Fayette County West on Ga. Highway 74 in Peachtree City will participate this Friday from 6 p.m. to midnight in a spin-a-thon to benefit KidsPeace, a private, not-for-profit charity dedicated to serving the critical behavioral and mental health needs of children, preadolescents and teens.

"We're excited to be raising money for KidsPeace and their efforts to assist these kids," said J.D. Holmes, owner of Gold's Gym Fayette.

More than 45 people are scheduled to participate in the event. Money will be raised for the KidsPeace charity to support their efforts to address the needs of children, adolescents and teens in crisis situations. The event will also serve as a kickoff for a weekend-long fitness event at Gold's Gym featuring seminars, workshops and training.

"The support from our members, friends and the local community has been overwhelming, as usual," added Linda Famularo, fitness director for Gold's Gym Fayette.

Gold's Gym Fayette is asking the community to support this event by sponsoring event participants financially or by making a direct donation to the cause.

The Spin-a-thon will take place using special indoor cycling equipment that simulates riding outdoors. Special music and a video presentation will make the event enjoyable, yet challenging. Joe Domaleski, a local triathlete and cyclist who has completed Ironman triathlons, will lead this event.
