Bike Rodeo in Newnan tomorrow

The Newnan Police Department is hosting its fourth annual Bicycle Rodeo tomorrow from 5-9:30 p.m. at the Coweta County Fairground on Pine Road.

The department encourages bike safety, and the Bike Rodeo focuses on fundamental yet imperative bicycle safety.

At the Bike Rodeo, attendees register their bikes and then head to the inspection station. At the inspection station, bikes are checked to ensure all parts are in working order including brakes, tires, handle bars, and chain.

After the inspection station, it's time for the helmet fitting. The Police Department will make sure everyone's own helmet fits perfectly or issue participants new, free helmets. An obstacle course is next at the rodeo. Riders can travel around a fun and exciting path. Lastly, everyone receives a t-shirt. Plus, there's refreshments and door prizes throughout the afternoon.

Everyone is welcome. The event is open to toddlers and above. All should bring their bikes.

Sponsors of the event include the Newnan Police Department, the Coweta County Sheriff's Department, Safe Kids of Georgia, Newnan Utilities, the Optimist Club of Newnan, Buffalo Rock, and Quick as a Wink Printing.
