New 4-H Center opens Besides a week off from school, Fulton County 4-H'ers have something to look forward to this spring break. The new Camp Fulton-Truitt Truitt 4-H Education Center opened Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. The center is located at 4300 Hershel Road in College Park. Fulton County Vice Chairman William "Bill" Edwards, District 7, and College Park Mayor Jack Longino made remarks at the ceremony and youth from the 4-H program presided over the event. "The new facility will strengthen our ability to provide on-site educational programs and meeting space for community groups and other county departments," said George W. Hadley, Director of the Fulton County Cooperative Extension Service. The new education center replaces the old camp gymnasium, which burned in a 1997 fire. The new facility was paid for with the insurance settlement from that incident. Fulton County's 4-H program serves more than 7,000 youth in the Fulton County and Atlanta public school systems.
