A Brooks man got a 60-day jail sentence in Peachtree City Municipal Court Wednesday morning for driving with a revoked license and driving an unlicensed vehicle.

James Osburn, 32, was not a candidate for probation because of four cases on his record for violating probation, said judge Eric Maxwell.

"You probably have about 20 speeding tickets," Maxwell told Osburn.

The judge also suspended Osburn's license "again."

"I wish I could keep you out of Fayette County but you live here," Maxwell continued. "I'm afraid you're going to run over somebody."

Maxwell gave Osburn credit for his time already served in jail.

Maxwell also sentenced another man to 30 days in jail for violating probation. According to officials, Taurus Render failed to report to his probation officer as he was ordered to by the court.

Render was also sentenced to a $679 fine, which once he paid in full would end his probation with Peachtree City, Maxwell ruled.

During a slate of brief bench trials, another man was found not guilty of failure to yield. Bryan Toma, 48, said when he made the turn off Ga. Highway 74 onto Paschall Road, the oncoming traffic was still stopped.

The officer who pulled Toma over was correct in doing so, but since none of the vehicles had to apply their brakes to avoid Toma, that worked in his favor, Maxwell said.

The following persons were also found guilty in court Wednesday:

David Arribas-Jiminez, 31, for following too close to another vehicle. He also pled no contest to driving without proof of insurance; sentenced to $219 fine.

Jason Boddie, 22, for failure to use a child safety seat. He also pled guilty to failure to use a seat belt and a windshield violation; sentenced to $132 fine.

Ranulfo Dumpit, 42, for speeding 18 miles an hour over the limit; sentenced to $102 fine.

Barry C. Bilder, 52, for failure to yield. Sentenced to a $192 fine.

Mark Jeffrey Hopper, 20, for soliciting (second offense); sentenced to $152 fine and three months probation.

Khalid Brickhouse, 22, for parking in a fire lane; sentenced to a $52 fine.

The court also accepted the following guilty pleas:

Richard Achor, 44, for DUI; sentenced to 24 hours in jail with 12 months probation, a $1,172 fine, 40 hours of community service and attendance at a DUI school.

Wesley A. Woolf, 20, for underage possession of alcohol. He also pled no contest to possession of an open container of alcohol; sentenced to 12 months probation, a $1,804 fine and 40 hours community service.

Janet Olson, 35, for resisting a police officer, driving without insurance and driving with improper equipment; sentenced to $519 fine and 12 months probation.

Mark A. Edwards, 17, for speeding (20 miles an hour over the limit) and driving too fast for conditions; sentenced to $224 fine and 40 hours community service.

Juan Carlos Saldivar, 28, for speeding and driving without a license; sentenced to a $102 fine.

The following persons also entered no contest pleas that were accepted by the court:

Teresa Basilone, 44, for public drunkenness; sentenced to $127 fine.
