Booth fares well at meet

The boys and girls track teams at Booth Middle School are off to a fast start. Having dominated in their first two track meets of the season, they entered the Peachtree City Invitational Track Meet recently with high hopes.

The Lady Warriors placed second at the Invitational against stiff competition. The Booth boys placed fourth out of a very competitive field. Fifteen teams from around the metro Atlanta area competed at the meet.

Both the girls' and the boys' teams earned a majority of their points from dominant distance performances and field events. Coach Ashmore and Coach Boerstler were very proud of the performances of all of the athletes at the meet.

Kaci Clark set a new school record for the girls' triple jump with a mark of 31 feet, 5 3/4 inches.

"It feels good to go out and compete against highly competitive teams with the results we had today," said Ashmore. "We have a nice blend of seventh and eighth grade talented athletes that work hard at practice and the results of that hard work were evident at today's meet. Our school was well represented by the athletes from J.C. Booth."
