Wednesday, April 9, 2003 Avery Park to host Designer Kitchen Showcase Kitchens are becoming the hub of the household, and with good reason. Kitchens have become multi-use rooms, often connected to family rooms and eating areas, while traditional living and dining rooms are going the way of the smoking parlor. Visit the free Designer Kitchen Showcase at Avery Park April 5-6 and 12-13 from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturdays and 1-6 p.m. Sundays, and see six trend-setting kitchens in homes ranging in price from the $130s to over $300,000. According to Peggy Sullivan, vice president of marketing at Pathway Communities, the developer of Avery Park, the kitchen has become more than a place to cook and eat. "The kitchen has evolved into the central gathering place in the home," said Sullivan. "From entertaining to e-mailing, the kitchen has become a room with many uses. And the Kitchen Showcase will give tour-goers a glimpse of what today's homebuilders are doing to address the new kitchen revolution." Featured kitchen designers include Kay Graham Designs, Linda Tryon and the Northgate High School interior design class. Avery Park's collection of kitchen plans is complemented by its selection of home styles, ranging from turn-of-the-century to traditional to custom, and its assortment of recreational opportunities. Amenities include walking trails and pedestrian paths, a competition-size swimming pool, tennis courts, community parks and a commercial Village Square. In addition, more than 30 percent of Avery Park has been designated green space and open areas. Avery Park also offers a combination of potential ultra-fast Internet access, upgraded wiring in every home and an interactive community Intranet. Avery Park is located on Highway 29 in Newnan.
