Group VI unveils new ULMA facility Peachtree City's Group VI Corporation and ULMA Packaging Systems, Inc. celebrated the grand opening of ULMA's new North American offices, warehouse, distribution, and technical support center located off of I-575 in the Cherokee County Airport Industrial Park in Canton. Group VI Corporation was the general contractor for the building, designed by Barker, Cunningham, Barrington, P.C. A large crowd of employees, friends, and family turned out for the opening ceremony including many of ULMA's oversees managers and division heads. ULMA Packaging is a wholly owned subsidiary of ULMA CyE S. Coop. An ISO 9001 manufacturer, and one of the worlds largest suppliers of flexible packaging machinery, headquartered in Onati, Spain. ULMA Packaging began direct operations in the United States from leased office and warehouse space in Woodstock in July of 1996. The new 20,000-square-foot facility will support their customers and nation wide sales and service agents throughout Canada, the United States, and the Caribbean. "Due to continued growth the new facility is necessary to enhance our capability to service our customers and continue our growth into the future," said ULMA vice president Harvey Fine. "The integrity and professionalism shown by the Group IV team has been outstanding and it has been my pleasure to work with their team on this project," added ULMA vice president Bill Chastain. "From the beginning of this project working through the design and bid process, to the final phases, we have been able to discuss any difficulties or problems incurred, work together in a professional manner to find solutions, and forge forward toward our common goal of constructing a building that meets ULMA's requirements. Group VI's efforts and willingness to 'go the extra mile' to satisfy the customer has made this a very enjoyable and rewarding experience." The facility's 20,000-square-foot layout features a high bay warehouse area and 7,400-square-feet of customized office space. The warehouse space has a 24' ceiling height. The building exterior consists of pre-cast concrete which provides an attractive facility with low maintenance costs. The 5.21-acre site allows for future building and parking expansion. Group VI, a full-service construction, development and real estate firm headquartered in Peachtree City, has completed numerous office, medical, industrial, religious and commercial projects throughout the Southeast and currently has active projects in Georgia, Florida and North Carolina.
