Southern Cruisers ride to end sexual assault

The Southern Cruisers Riding Club - South Atlanta Chapter is hosting a poker run ride to benefit the Southern Crescent Sexual Assault Center. The "Ride to End Sexual Assault" will take place on Saturday, Apr. 5 and will offer the hundreds of local motorcycle enthusiasts an opportunity to showcase their skills while helping the Southern Crescent Sexual Assault Center. The event will start at 11 a.m. at Harley Davidson of Clayton County and will end at the Arctic Circle in Stockbridge. Award presentations will begin at 3 p.m.

The "Ride to End Sexual Assault" will help heighten awareness of the issue of sexual assault and raise funds for the center's work. The Southern Crescent Sexual Assault Center is a private, non-profit organization that provides services to the residents of Clayton, Fayette and Henry counties. Their services include a 24-hour crisis line; hospital, police and court accompaniment; individual counseling and support groups; recovery groups for children; community education for children, youth and adults of all ages; self defense classes and a resource referral network. The staff and volunteers of the Southern Crescent Sexual Assault Center work daily to reduce the threat of sexual violence on a local, state and national level through prevention, intervention, and education. Monies generated by this event will play a critical role in the center's work within all three communities.
