Christ the King church to host women's conference April 4-5

Valerie McIntyre and Dr. Carla Waterman of Wheaton, Ill., will be the featured speakers at the Georgia Diocesan Women's Conference at Christ the King Charismatic Episcopal Church Friday and Saturday, April 4-5.

McIntyre has served for the past 10 years in the teaching and healing ministry of Pastoral Care Ministries, founded by Leanne Payne.

For the past five years, she has been involved in training those who minister in prayer at PCM schools. She is a graduate of Wheaton College and lives in the Chicago area with her husband and daughter.

Waterman teaches spiritual formation and pastoral care as they are rooted in corporate worship. She teaches at the Institute for Worship and Spirituality at Northern Baptist Seminary in Lombard, Ill., and in the Institute of Worship Studies, Florida campus.

She has served on the faculty of Wheaton College and as Pastor of Christian Formation at Church of the Resurrection, an Anglican congregation in Wheaton, Ill. She lives with her husband and son in the Carol Stream, Ill. area.

The theme of the conference will be "Renewing Our Baptismal Life in Christ," with the opening session beginning Friday, April 4. The conference will end late Saturday afternoon, but both women will minister at the 8 and 10 a.m. services at Christ the King Sunday, April 6.
