County has lost great man in Spencer's passing

It was with great sadness that I learned of the passing of Tyrone Police Chief Roger Spencer.

During my years as a journalist in Fayette and covering Tyrone, Roger was always gracious, kind and very, very funny. You could always trust Roger to give you the straight story. He was proud of Tyrone and loved his job.

Roger was the antithesis of all the stories you hear about corrupt and bad cops. Tyrone and Fayette has lost a truly great man. I send my sympathies to his friends and family.
