I find it unconscionable that the Fayetteville mayor and City Council would vote themselves a raise without prior notice of the vote to the public.

Perhaps there would have been public comment on the issue if they had taken the time to add the topic to the March 20 City Council meeting agenda.

I know that I and several of my neighbors would have certainly attended the meeting if we had known ahead of time that they had decided to give themselves a raise.

Mayor and members of the City Council, I challenge you to show one ounce of integrity by cancelling the self-imposed raise, based on the unethical manner in which it was administered.

The very least you should have done was show it as in the meeting agenda. You all should be ashamed of yourselves.
