Local artist's work featured The Fulton County Arts Council will host an opening reception for "My Sucker Thumb Story," an exhibit by Lesley Ann Price April 5, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Abernathy Arts Center. The exhibit, which focuses on Price's childhood during apartheid in Johannesburg, South Africa, will run from April 5 through April 30, 2003. Price, a resident of Atlanta, studied at the School of Art and Design at Georgia State and the Penland School of Craft in North Carolina. Price's work has been seen in numerous local group exhibitions. She has helped organize local art projects, including "Art of Ndebele: The Evolution of a Cultural Identity" at the Atlanta International Museum and "Common and Uncommon Ground: South African Art to Atlanta" at City Gallery East.
