Local players earn state hoop honors The Atlanta Tipoff Club and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution have released their annual Georgia High School Basketball Awards, and several local players have made the list. Ashley Key of Landmark Christian School was named the girls Class A Player of the Year. Randolph Morris of Landmark made the Class A All-State first team. Megan Darrah of East Coweta is a member of the Metro Atlanta Girls Prep Team of the Year along with Key. Members of the Metro Atlanta Boys Prep Team of the Year, in addition to Morris, include three players from adjoining counties Josh Barker of Lovejoy, Toney Douglas of Jonesboro, and Brett Petway of Griffin. Top players and coaches in all classifications will be recognized by the Atlanta Tipoff Club at the 35th Naismith Awards Banquet April 11 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta.
