DuChem moving to Coweta By JOHN THOMPSON
Coweta County's gain is Fayette's loss. Coweta officials announced last week that Fayette's DuChem Industries is relocating to the recently shuttered Slumberland Mattress location in the county's industrial park. The company is one of the country's leading national supplier of sanitation detergents, sanitizers, specialty chemicals and in-plant technical service for the food processing industry. DuChem's CEO Dave Duford said the company has been in Fayetteville since 1989 and just ran out of room at its current facility at Robinson Way. "Our business is expanding and we couldn't find a suitable site in Fayette County," said Duford. The company currently operates a 15,000 sq. ft. facility in Fayette, but is moving to a 75,000 sq. ft. building in Coweta. DuChem's chief financial officer Dan Marischuk said the company is starting renovations on the building and said the process could take three months.
