Random
vehicle inspections begun at Hartsfield Airport
At approximately
1 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2003 random security vehicle inspections
began at Hartsfield Atlanta International Airport. Members of the Atlanta
Police Department and private security officers will conduct the random
vehicle inspections.

junior is first student to earn advanced computer certification
Dipan Patel, a junior
at Banneker High School in south Fulton County, is the first student
in the school system to receive A+ Certification from CompTIA
(Computing Technology Industry Association). This advanced certification
is usually achieved by college students or business professionals.

This time every
year Uncle Sam becomes a part of consumers' financial lives. Many will
owe a tax payment and not have the money to pay. Others will receive
a tax refund and, a month later, have no idea where the money went.

sees geometry at work
Landmark Christian
School geometry student Scott Chartier said that a recent class trip
to the Georgia Pacific Design and Technology Center was a well-planned
success. What Scott, and his classmates, feared would be a day of lectures
and presentations, turned out quite different and very interesting.
'Let's
Do Health' focuses on colorectal cancer education at South Fulton Medical
Center
In recognition of
Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month in March, South Fulton Medical Center
will be providing education to help combat a disease affecting nearly
150,000 people in the United States. The program is part of South Fulton
Medical Center's continuing efforts to improve health through preventative
medicine and education.

offering $500 scholarship
The Atlanta Southern
Crescent Alumnae Panhellenic Association (ASCAPA) is offering one $500
scholarship to a female high school student and resident of the Southern
Crescent area (defined as the counties of Fayette, Coweta, Clayton,
Henry, Spalding and the cities of South Fulton county) who will attend
an accredited four-year college in the fall of 2003.
